Director

Péter Galambos (Senior Member of IEEE) received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) in 2006 and 2013, respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Research Intern at the Toshiba Corporate Research and Development Center, then joined the Institute for Computer Science and Control of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI), where he held a “Young Researcher” Scholarship between 2010 and 2012. From 2011 to the end of 2015, he served as a team leader at MTA SZTAKI, coordinating the development of the VirCA VR system and its research applications. In 2013, he joined Óbuda University, where he has been involved in robotics-related R&D activities and education. He is currently a full professor and Director of the Antal Bejczy Center for Intelligent Robotics at Óbuda University, and since July 2024, he has also served as the Vice Rector for Innovation at Óbuda University. Between 2021 and 2024, he was a Bolyai Scholarship holder from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2024, he was awarded the title of Founding Researcher of Óbuda University. His research interests include advanced industrial robotics and control systems, cyber-physical systems, and virtual reality. He has authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific publications, which have received over 1900 citations. Alongside his academic career, he is a successful entrepreneur, co-founder, and CTO of the MAXWHERE 3D Digital Twin software platform.
