On 25 November 2025, the first Quadruped Robot Developer Meeting was held at the Antal Bejczy Center for Intelligent Robotics (IROB) of Obuda University, in cooperation with the Department of Ethology at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). The goal of the event was to bring together Hungarian research groups and industrial actors working on the development, application, or study of quadruped robot platforms.
A large number of participants attended, representing universities, research institutes, startups, and industrial partners, clearly indicating the growing domestic interest in quadruped robotics. Following short introductions, a lively and constructive professional discussion unfolded on topics such as common platform development, open-source collaboration opportunities, and the alignment of Hungarian research directions.
The informal format of the program facilitated the formation of new connections and the outlining of potential collaborations. According to participants’ feedback, the meeting was a significant step toward strengthening the Hungarian quadruped robotics community, and it clearly laid the foundations for joint thinking and coordinated development.
We would like to express our gratitude
– to the organizers for their exemplary cooperation and the successful execution of the event,
– and to all participants for attending and contributing to the meeting’s success.
The joint work has begun, we look forward to continuing at the next occasion!
