The 2017 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) took place at Vancouver, BC, Canada September 24–28, 2017. This year, IROS celebrated its 30th anniversary! For this occasion, the organizers collected photos and videos from the IROS community, and these mementos were later showcased during the conference. Besides the anniversary, this year’s meeting focused on the emerging challenge of human-robot collaboration. This focus was emphasized by the conference main theme: “Friendly People, Friendly Robots”.

The ISO/IEC robotics international standardization working groups’ meeting is taking place at Óbuda University this summer, hosted by EKIK. Following a great tradition, the last day of the program is a Medical Robotics Workshop, open to the public, where invited experts deliver keynote talks regarding the current achievements and upcoming research and development results in the domain.
